2010 Road Trip

2010 Fifa world cup se moer, HKGKKKG for the win!

So from my understanding there will be some planning and more planning, there will also be some drinking and more drinking (yummi) and at the end of the day we will be doing a road trip again in 2010!

Must say, I'm really looking forward to it!

CAMPING TOUR 2010

Hi Everyone
This is great, Thanks Gillian.
First how about putting your name at the bottom of your post, so we know who you are. I know which comments belong to Irene, and I know which comments are Gillians, but the rest I don't know who's talking.
Regarding the 2010 Tour, I am inclined to agree with whoever that was that said FOCUS...lets go out of the country. I wouldn't exactly say Cape Town is boring, but definately is expensive. Personally, I vote for out the country, Swaziland, Maputo somewhere like that. I know a lot of it 4x4....but before we let that put us off. Lets do some research and see how we can get around that.
Gillian....seen as you the boffin and the creator of this blog. how about you set up a voting poll. So everyone can vote for the destination....and then lets see what the majority preference is.

2010 TOUR

Dit is alles goed en wel maar ek het ook 'n voëltjie hoor fluit dat Percy en Riaan dit gaan organiseer. Ek stem vir die Kaap want daar is baie wynroetes en ander goed wat ons kan gaan sien. Maputo is ook reg maar seker plekke het jy defnitief 'n 4 x 4 nodig en dit is nie namibia se 4 x 4 nie dit is regtig 4 x 4. Piet het ook self genoem dat daar nie regtig iets in mosambiek/swaziland is om te sien nie.

So ja kom mense dat ons op Riaan en Percy se nekke lê om te begin met die reëlings. Kyk ons het mos nog ons experts wat die namibia trip georganiseer het. So Percy en Riaan het geen verskonings nie.

nou praat julle my taal se net waar en waneer dan is ek daar ek dink meer ons moet MAPUTO doen daar is baie om te doen en is baie mooi of SWAZILAND dis ook cool maar nie kaap nie come on people make like riaan's ST and FOCUS!!!!!!!!!!! ons moet uit die land gaan rerig dis die enigste oppsie die kaap is boring hello...

2010 December Tour

Did I hear right?

There has been talk (or should I call it rumours flying around) that another Tour is being considered for December 2010 (similar to our Namibia tour -with modifications of course).

A little birdie whispered in my ear that it may be Cape Town, another little birdie said Swaziland, a third birdie told me Maputo.

Well....well...is there ANY truth in these little birdie twitters?

Hmmmm I certainly hope so.

I personally think its a BRILLIANT idea.

If we plan well in advance and work out a saving plan - we can do this one too.

I'll bet that little birdie was singing the right tune...

Who's up for it? Its been almost an entire year without a HKGK camp.

Remember what this looks like? Yes, its a camp fire, peeps.

I know we've all had a busy 2008 with our growing families, our work committments, our lack of finances...but even if its a budget camp - LETS DO IT!

This was the ladies weekend at Buffelspoort. Remember "Polly"? - she kept switching the kettle on? Remember how much we laughed that weekend?

This was the weekend that Riaan forgot our tent poles at home and we hi-jacked Dirk's tent for our family and posted him out to sleep on a stretcher in Mandy's Tent.

The camping girls - my how they've grown since then...

You're All Invited

To Megan and Kaylin's birthday bash on 17 January at 12ish. We have the venue all day so we can go as early as we want. Most of her little friends will be there at 12 noon only. We'll be there earlier enjoying the sunshine (hopefully) and a glass of wine.

I won't post the venue on here as we might have the entire Kaialeechya turn up but most of you know where. Spread the word. If you don't know, phone Gillian...

Remember not to spoil these two too much. They got TONS at Christmas...just you being there to "kuier" is enough.

Bring you own drinks and your costumes and towels. The adults can have a go on the slip 'n slide too. We are a bunch of hooligans after all. Gotta live up to the name.

I will be providing finger snacks and PARTY HATS (especially just for you - Richard - I'll make you a special one).
